How To Choose the Right Flooring

There’s no arguing that flooring is one of the most important features of your home since it contributes to the ambiance of every room and offers great functionality. But there are a LOT of options to choose from — tile, hardwood, laminate, carpet… So where do you even begin? Here are a few tips that HGTV recommends!

1. Know your style. Factors to consider are patterns, colors, texture, and even your current décor!

2. Consider your lifestyle. Every room in your home has different functionalities, so think about how you use the room that needs flooring. Is there a lot of foot traffic? Does it need to be stain-resistant? Or easy to clean?

3. Crunch the numbers. You can consider the two tips above but if you don’t know your budget, renovations can’t happen! Take into consideration, not just the material, but also the underlayment, delivery, and installation. Don’t forget the removal of your old flooring, too! Plus, tools and extra material costs like baseboards, stains, and/or adhesives.
